The National Iota Foundation Mourns the Loss of its Former Chairman

Ron Jones Photo

It is with a profound sense of sadness and loss that the National Iota Foundation announces the passing of our Former Chairman, Bro. Ronald G. Jones (20A66), after a lengthy battle with cancer. Bro. Jones was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and he will be remembered for his strength, dignity, kindness, and love for Iota Phi Theta.

Many have considered him a template for "The Iota Man." He was a successful businessman, spending years with IBM and Xerox, he served his country with distinction as an US Army Officer, and he was the driving force behind the NIF's current "Centaur Park" initiative. Ron will also be remembered for his sense of style, class, and appropriateness as a Brother of Iota (Is it any wonder that he made his transition at 5:15 pm?)

While arrangements are pending, we can share that Ron's wishes were that his remains be committed to science and that he not have a "funeral." His desire was that we celebrate his life. That means there will be plenty of stories, laughter, and a healthy dose of Miles Davis. We will keep you posted as details become available.
